MY LEGAL JOURNEY
Hi, I’m Katie Johnson—attorney, entrepreneur, and advocate for smart, strategic real estate investing.
After earning my law degree over 14 years ago from the University of Michigan, I began my legal career in public service, eventually serving as an Assistant Director of Investigations at the U.S. Department of Education. In that role, I led complex, high-impact investigations—most notably the Department’s largest enforcement action to date—holding institutions accountable and ensuring compliance with federal law. I became a go-to resource for regulatory strategy, risk assessment, and navigating government scrutiny.
But I’ve always believed in building something of my own.
After years in government, I returned to Michigan and joined forces with my dad at his real estate law firm, where I found a perfect fit for my dual passions: law and real estate. I’m now launching my own practice to serve clients who are growing businesses, building wealth through real estate, and navigating legal complexities with big goals in mind—just like I’ve done myself.
I’m not just an attorney—I’m also a real estate investor, co-host, and property manager with a growing portfolio of short and long-term rentals across Southwest Michigan. I understand the legal risks and business realities because I live them daily. That’s why my approach is practical, protective, and always focused on results.
Whether you’re forming your first LLC, negotiating a deal, defending your property rights, or scaling your investment strategy, I’m here to be your legal partner in growth.
Let’s build something great—together.
